StartGreen Award 2015: Endeva’s project “Communauts” among finalists

The StartGreen Award aims to find  innovative ideas that serve as examples for the Green Economy in Germany, and thus strengthen the green start-up scene. Out of a total of 182 applying initiatives, Endeva’s project Communauts made it to the final round of this year’s competition.

startgreenawardCommunauts is a social enterprise established in selected Asian and African countries that aims to promote sustainable tourism integrating local communities. to provide a professional and market-based development service that links the supply of locally produced products and services to market demand. Communauts will trade both raw material and processed products such as food, handicraft, cosmetics, cleaning products and clothing. Communauts will ensure that products are high quality, locally sourced, fairly traded and use eco-friendly production methods. Communauts also offers services relevant for the tourism industry such as training of local staff and service providers or sustainability consulting.

The most important goal of the competition is to create networking opportunities among the green start-up scene. The award, initiated by the start-up initiative StartUp4Climate, honors innovative foundation concepts and businesses whose products and services contribute to climate protection and a sustainable economy. The award is supported by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and the National Climate Initiative.
