ProjectMarket Study and Competitiveness Analysis for CSR-related Services for GIZ in Asia

Project Context

CSR and ‘Responsible Business’ can be important drivers for sustainable economic growth in Asian countries. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is committed to support this development. Consequently, GIZ aims to better understand the supply and demand of CSR services in Asia, as well as further develop its service portfolio in the area of CSR and Responsible Business in the region.

Project Objective

The goal of this study was to provide recommendations to GIZ about how to strengthen its CSR service portfolio in the following countries: Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam. For that purpose, the CSR context and market were analysed. The analysis drew upon extensive desk research on the CSR market in the respective countries, interviews with private and public organisations, experts and GIZ staff as well as insights from a multi-stakeholder workshop. Research was conducted by a core team of Endeva in Germany as well as a team of country researchers.

Project Output

The Endeva team developed an internal study for GIZ which included a framing document, recommendations and five country profiles.
