Christian Pirzer is a managing director of Endeva and an expert in facilitating market transformation processes with partners from the private and public sector. As a system innovation specialist passionate about leveraging technology to build economic systems that serve people and planet, he collaborates with cross-sector partners to design business models and implement collective impact partnerships that strengthen global value chains and business ecosystems.

Fields of expertise include: business model innovations (e.g. circularity, distribution & sales, payment & pricing) in the energy, agri-food, and tourism sectors, system innovations, collective impact models and market systems development. In over 12 years at Endeva, Christian has managed and led more than 30 projects and partnerships to identify, scale and replicate inclusive business models and system innovations, including several publications, trainings, and workshops. As part of the Endeva team, Christian is responsible for strategy development and operational management. He is always looking for people that bring new perspectives to the company, be it by having a specific sector expertise or methodological insights to facilitate system transformations.

Between 2017 and 2018, Christian Pirzer worked at UNDP’s Regional Service Centre for Africa in Ethiopia. As part of the private sector team, he designed and implemented three ecosystem initiatives to strengthen inclusive businesses in Lesotho, Senegal and Uganda. Before joining Endeva, Christian worked for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Brazil, where he focused on community-based adaptation to climate change and disaster risk-reduction. He has a background in political science and graduated from the Centre for Rural Development (SLE), a postgraduate program on international development.
