Upcoming event: Pan-African Peer Exchange on Building the African Green Hydrogen Startup Ecosystem on April 20.

Mark your calendar for our Pan-African Peer Exchange on Building the African Green Hydrogen Startup Ecosystem on Thursday, April 20th, from 9 – 11 AM GMT.

Green hydrogen can be transformative for Africa. This upcoming sector will create green jobs and a new industry of startups and local innovators. Now is the time to create the fertile ground for entrepreneurs, who often lack access to  adequate finance, skills, or even awareness of opportunities in the GH2 sector. Our consultations in Kenya, Namibia and South Africa as part of our ongoing ii2030 Green Hydrogen edition have surfaced an opportunity to strengthen the support ecosystem at the pan-African level. We will therefore facilitate a peer exchange event that will bring together stakeholders from across the continent to be inspired by current best practices and co-create ideas for a thriving African GH2 startup ecosystem.

The participants will exchange their experiences and best practices on the following four cross-cutting topics:

  • Access to finance, including affordable seed and growth capital for startups and innovators
  • Collaboration between startups and large projects and corporates
  • Sector-specific skills development
  • Raising awareness regarding opportunities and market access for startups along the green hydrogen value chain

If you want to participate, contact Samantha Beekman (s.beekman@endeva.org) for a formal invitation. We look forward to enjoying fruitful discussions on the topics and making meaningful connections across sectors.

The ii2030 Green Hydrogen in Africa edition is an Endeva initiative powered by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and realized in close collaboration with the MAKE-IT program run by the German Agency for International Cooperation GmbH (GIZ).
